Local songwriter, Michael Mullan, has composed a song to celebrate Swansea’s 50th anniversary as a city – and you can be part of it!
The song, ‘This is our City’, is sung by Justine Afante and pupils from Dancerama Performing Arts School.
Thanks to help from Swansea Council, the song has been recorded and now Michael is producing a video to go along with it to be played at major events throughout the summer that celebrate the anniversary.
Michael says: “We have created a storyboard for the video that reflects the iconic landscapes and the people who make up the city.
“The workers, the talent, the local heroes, the community groups. Most of the spiritual and cultural diversity that so enriches the beautiful tapestry of Swansea.
“And we want you to be involved in it!”
Michael adds: “We will be filming a family of between 4-6 people at the entrance to High Street station on Saturday 22 June at 8am
“For your chance to star in this once in a generation project, please follow the @50Swansea twitter page and retweet.
“The winner will be chosen at random on Friday and will be informed by Friday afternoon.”
